Summer in San Diego: Join us on July 8th

Gil is looking forward to performing for the San Diego Symphony's annual outdoor summer concert series. There will be many friends from San Diego attending so book your tickets starting April 8. These concerts are performed on a stage constructed each year at the beautiful Embarcadero Marina Park South, on San Diego Bay right behind the San Diego Convention Center. The setting is nothing short of inspirational and the scenery breathtaking. The Principal Summer Pops conductor is Matthew Garbutt and together with the San Miguel Five they will be performing classical Spanish, gorgeous Mexican and American ballads, great movie music and of course gypsy jazz. The fireworks on the stage will be followed by fireworks in the air.

Catch Gil this March in Minnesota and Dallas

On March 3, 2012 the Minneapolis' Orchestra Hall will be transformed into the City of Lights for a concert that celebrates the romance of Paris. In a showcase of French music and composers, along with a salute to the artists who performed these classics, audiences can expect to hear the timeless melodies of singers Edith Piaf and Josephine Baker, composers Django Reinhardt and Michel Legrand (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), singer-songwriters Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg and more. Instrumentalists Gil Gutiérrez and Patrick Harison perform, along with Twin Cities-based singers Kersten Rodau and Robb Asklof. Conducting is Principal Conductor of Pops and Presentations Sarah Hicks, who along with the Orchestra’s Director of Pops and Special Projects, Lilly Schwartz, conceived and produced the program.

Please don't miss the chance to hear Gil play with the Minneapolis’ Orchestra Hall on Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m. Ticket prices range from $22 to $50, with VIP seating at $60. For tickets, call Minnesota Orchestra Ticket Services at (612) 371-5656 or visit the Orchestra’s website by visiting this link.

Guitarist and composer Gil Gutiérrez has performed twice at Orchestra Hall. His many projects include performances of his original compositions with the New York Choral Society; scoring such films as El Cochero, Una Causa Noble and El Alcázar de Chapultepec; and recording a new CD with Doc Severinsen, due out in 2012.
