These concerts are performed on a stage constructed each year at the beautiful Embarcadero Marina Park South, on San Diego Bay right behind the San Diego Convention Center. The setting is nothing short of inspirational and the scenery breathtaking. The Principal Summer Pops conductor is Matthew Garbutt and together with the San Miguel Five they will be performing classical Spanish, gorgeous Mexican and American ballads, great movie music and of course gypsy jazz. The fireworks on the stage will be followed by fireworks in the air.

Gil to perform with Arturo Sandoval at the Bellas Artes in Mexico City on Friday November 18

Arturo Sandoval is a gifted musician who is "fluent in at least four musical languages. He can burn through an Afro-Cuban groove, tear up a bebop tune, soar over a Mozart concerto and sooth you with a luscious ballad; with equal power and grace". He is the protégé of jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie who became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American jazz. Arturo Sandoval has 4 Grammy Awards and continues to thrill audiences with his unique and sensational sound.

As you can imagine Gil is thrilled to be invited once again to be featured as his special guest at El Palacio de Bellas Artes with the Big Band Musitec. Please make your plans for this dynamic evening of music in Mexico City on Friday, November 18th at 8pm.
